Hi, I'm on my second 25' 2005 Springdale, bought the first in Feb. '05, first time out it was raining, carpet around the slide was saturated, it spent over 30 days with the dealer and could not be fixed, tried to work it out with Keystone but they would have none of that, hired an attorney and after another 4 months Keystone finally replaced it with another new '05.
Took this one out for the first winter camp yesterday, guess what, uh huh, slide out leaks, I'm really hoping the dealer can remedy the issue with out me being out of the trailer again for four months, Winter is my slow time and thats when I use it the most.
Anyone else had problems with slides leaking? Any Ideas on how to overcome this issue?
Thanks in advance

I've had a few leaks in my 298BH GL around the slide. With one, the slide wasn't sealing properly and water was getting in and pooling on the slide roof. The dealer adjusted the slide and re-caulked the edge treatment on the trailer where the slide meets on the top edge of the trailer. Solved it. On another, the culprit wasn't the slide itself but the window above the couch instead. The butyl surrounding the window wasn't properly sealing the window in its opening. Water was getting in and finding its way down inside the wall to the floor, giving the appearance that the slide was leaking. A simple fix was to apply a good quality caulking arouind the outside of the window. That solved it. These potential leak areas can easily be seen by inspecting your trailer at night with all interior lights on. Any voids in the butyl will be readily seen from the outside as light shines through. Another thing to be aware of is the sealing around any storage compartment doors. These can easily leak, particularly if its a large door that susceptible to warping or if the aluminum door stop gets bent out of shape. Good luck!

ok, picked up the trailer from the service dept. today, was assured that the leak was due to misalignment of the slideout and that all was fixed, Told they ran water on it and let it sit in the rain for a day and no more leak.
brought it home, opened the slide, made sure the wipers and seals were all perfectly in place, rain came as scheduled, slideout leaked as usual. I will be returning to the service dept. tomorrow AM first thing.
wish me luck |

| At the bottom edges of each side of the slide out room there is a narrow channel strip that covers the bottom edges of each side. Keystone does not seal that strip very well and water runs down the side of the slide out, into that channel and from there back into the unit and wets the carpet around the slide out on each side. Probably under the sofa and under the dinette storage also. I would check that first. Hope this helps. |

We purchased a 2006 back in Aug 2005 was delivered on Sept 15 and driver hit telephone pole and tore back panel off our 29RKL camper sat and leaked until Nov 1, 2005 when they came back and picked camper up. Slide out leaked, doors didn't shut properly, slides in drawers were missing, etc. Camper was delivered back to us on Dec 15 yep... We took camper to our site in April all leaks were suppose to be fixed what a laugh... in June started leaking really bad so July 15th went back again this time wood around slide out was suppose to be replaced due to water damage plus leaks. While in their shop they busted out a window...so FINALLY on Aug 15 we went to pick camper up and first thing noticed was wood trim was still not replaced..We decided they had had our camper long enough and they promised to come out to site and replace trim..While hooking trailer to truck the jack broke... they replaced jack and we went to site, slide out was out and once again I stepped in water..so far two months in their facility and still leaking NOT A HAPPY CAMPER... Story continues contact me and I'll let you know the rest of the story NOT HAPPY WITH KEYSTONE OR DEALERSHIP...LAWSUIT IN PROGRESS !!!!!

| i just bought a used springdale, and yes my slide had leaked as well. i replaced the two wood trim pieces myself, but cant see where it leaked or maybe leaks. any other suggestions? All that appears wet is on each side of the slide where those two vertical wood trim pieces are. |

| I have a 2005 266RL. Slide leaked on end towards front of unit. I finally installed a rain drip above slide to help keep water out when closed. This seems to work fairly well. Problem now is the wood joists under front of slide probably have dry rotted. Slide is 1/2" lower at front end when open, floor is also depressed. Will start to explore actual damage and difficulty in replacing. |
